Citizens Urged to Pray for Marepe Government to Take Back PNG

INVISIBLE CORPORATE LOBBYISTS PLOTTING TO TOPPLE HIS REGIME

Commentary by Tonny Maben

Hon. James Marape
Powerful forces-those who make money off PNG through associations with Government officials and politicians, are at play again to get rid of populist Hon. James Marape as PM who has so far shown resistance to easy push-through by company prepared agreements.

What you read and hear may have  another angle to it. The least honest concerned PNGeans must do is pray for truth and justice to prevail. Both overseas and local media, including sponsored social media pages, will run stories with underlying dynamics that run to break Marape government.

Because of the following, many are not happy;

  1. Marape has commissioned full report into UBS with an intend to stop outsiders and big banks and companies from influencing government and recouping lost money;
  2. Marape asked for review to Papua LNG. Whilst the whole agreement has reached stalemate due to law, he has secured five additional benefits for LOs and Government with his review;
  3. Marape has shown no mercy but to win for the country in P’Nyang gas negotiations;
  4. Marape has called for reform and starting with downstream in logging;
  5. Marape is calling for local processing of marine and fish catch in our country;
  6. Marape has appointed hard core corruption fighter in Brian Kramer as police minister to fight corruption including within his own government;
  7. Marape has appointed another renowned corruption fighter in Sam Koim to fight cooperate tax fraudsters and Koim is ramping up compliance on tax and checking on those who are defaulting;
  8. Marape and Davis Steven are bringing in the much deferred Independent Commission Against Corruption and Whistle Blowers Act this coming Tuesday to the dismay of many corruption practitioners, and;
  9. Marape is removing Chief Secretary and trying to reform public service in Waigani by cutting it down and transferring GST to provinces and districts where 90% of PNG people live.
  10. Whilst Marape may be far from perfect politician, under him, the country is seeing some serious shift from the way our country’s Waigani elites in politicians,  public servants and companies in their unholy trinity alliance that has seen PNG plundered off resources in billions of Kina thus far.
  11. Marape, the warrior from the heartland of Hela where PNG LNG is sourced from, is not quick to make decisions but he is firm and decisive.

 He is not just a PM but tribal leader so to the forces at play , you better learn to work with him or you will slowly but surely pay high price.

In case, you think he is a neophyte ( new kid in block), you are wrong. He is a seasoned warrior, who wants to leave permanent legacy for his country PNG. And, the last I heard in Laguna was that he is building the next generation of PNG leaders who have the same spirit, to take over from him in the even that something goes wrong as he picks those big fights.
